Celebrating Christmas 2010

Oh do the participants at the Adrian Center know how to put on a party. We celebrated the Christmas Season with a big party on the 22 of December. Everyone brought a snack type food and the tables were heavy with about any type of snack you could want. Sweet, sour, salty , non fattening or fattening. You name it, it was there. And oh how everyone ate. Hardly room for lunch at all.

Table full of food set up between the cafeteria and the gym.

Yummy this sure is good.

Deloris, Joyce, Bob and Nelda enjoying the snacks and conversation.

Look at the crowd gathering.

The Line Dancers taking a break between hours.

Rita and Ramona enjoying the party.

Let's do some dancing.

Carla frosting cookies for the day.

Cassie working on mashed potatoes for the lunch .

Dannielle preparing white sack veggies for the following days homebound clients.

The Balladiers from Adrian High School came to entertain us. What a wonderful group and we certainly loved all the Christmas Carols they did. The group was formed 50 years ago and it is quite an honor to be chosen for the group.

Crowd watching the Balladiers perform.

The line dancers  along with Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and Bronna.

Santa and Mrs. Claus join in with one of the dances.

The Goldentones a group from the Adrian Senior Center performed at lunch time. They have had a busy December of performances in several of the Nursing homes, Assisted living, and Senior Complexs.

Our table ladies Joyce and Marleene enjoying the delicious lunch.

And having fun are two of the cooks. Dannielle and Carla. I think they were waiting for Santa Claus.

So this is Christmas at the Adrian Senior Center. Start making plans for joining us all again next December. You will not be sorry nor will you go away hungry.

Christmas at the Adrian Senior Center

Christmas is a wonderful time at our Senior Center. Take a look at some of the fun we have each year.

This year there was a tree decorating contest. Several did trees and there was a tree in every room used over the Holiday Season.

This was the first place tree decorated by Karen Poe and the men in the pool room.

This is the tree that was just inside the main door by the office. It was the second place tree decorated in lime green, teal, and purple, the colors of the Center logo. This was decorated by Karan Cox

This tree was in the computer room and was decorated by the girls in the Main Office at the Department on Aging. Everything on this tree and under the tree had to do with a computer including the star which was from a computer screen saver. This tree took 4th place.

This tree was done buy the ladies that work the library and is in the Library Room. It was classified as a "Bookworm:" tree and was unique as all the bookworms were gummy worms hanging on the tree.

This tree is the large tree in the cafeteria . It was decorated by Bronna and Beth. Lots of ornaments on the tree.

Somehow I did not get a picture of the 3rd. place tree done by the line dancers. Hopefully someone will share one so I can add it to the trees here. It was very unique in that it was made of horseshoes.

A fun time was had by everyone and we thank each one that decorated the trees. They were all great and so enjoyed by the Center  Participants.

Time now to start planning the trees for next year and what we hope will be a yearly decorating contest.
